Today we will start working through Lesson 7.11 which is called Weights of State Birds. Before we begin I want you to complete the below table on Converting Pounds to Ounces. To check yourself use a calculator and remember the rule: x 16 (since 16 ounces are in every pound). For the one that shows 10 ounces you need to divide by 16.
Now try the below Mental Math problems. Be careful with a few of them.

Now let's set things up for you to work on Journal pages 258 & 259.

I have something fun I want you to finish up your math lesson with today. Since our lesson was dealing with birds I want you to go outside and sit still for a few minutes and see if you can hear at least 3 different kinds of birds chirping. I am listening at my house right now and can already hear 2 different kinds of chirps they make. Have fun!
Tongue Twister for the Day:
A big bug bit a little beetle, but the little beetle bit the big bug back.
